Facilities at our venue


Abbotswood Community Centre has a large main hall, two meeting rooms that can be opened up into one, and a small interview room — flexible spaces for classes, community activities, business meetings, workshops, parties and family celebrations.

Every booking includes shared use of our kitchen, which has a fridge, drinking water, a hot water tap and crockery, and a serving hatch opening directly into the Main Hall. Main Hall bookings can also use the small outdoor garden space when the weather allows. Each room comes with tables and chairs, and further equipment is available to hire.

The Centre is air conditioned throughout. There are separate male and female toilets and an accessible toilet with a baby changing unit, and we provide free sanitary products for Centre users. Our reception is a comfortable place to pause before or after your booking, browse the community bookshelf or get a hot drink from the vending machine.

Book Main Hall

Main Hall

Capacity: 120 people
Pricing: £20.00-£25.00 per hour

The Centre's largest room, a full-height hall with a sprung wood-effect floor, court markings and double doors onto the corridor.

It is regularly used for exercise and dance classes, children's activities, community events, meetings, parties, performances and larger group sessions. Main Hall bookings can also use the small outdoor garden space, and the kitchen serving hatch opens directly into the room.

Meeting Room 1

Capacity: 30 people
Pricing: £9.52-£13.00 per hour

A practical, flexible room with a wood-effect floor and shuttered windows, suitable for smaller meetings, training sessions, workshops, consultations and group activities.
It can be opened up with Meeting Room 2 to make a single larger space. 
The hire also includes the use of the kitchen facilities.

The second of the Centre's two meeting rooms, matching Meeting Room 1 in size and fit-out.
It works equally well on its own for meetings and training, or opened up with Meeting Room 1 for a larger session.
The hire also includes the use of the kitchen facilities.

Both meeting rooms opened up into a single larger space.
This is the option for dance, yoga and pilates sessions, larger training days and workshops that need more room than either meeting room offers on its own.
The hire also includes the use of the kitchen facilities.

A small, quiet room designed for one-to-one appointments and short meetings.
It is particularly suitable for counselling, advice sessions, interviews, consultations, tutoring or confidential conversations. Weekday afternoons, evenings and weekends are charged at a reduced rate.
The hire also includes the use of the kitchen facilities.

Whole Centre

Capacity: 185 people
Pricing: £50.00-£58.00 per hour

Hire the entire community centre exclusively for your event or activity. This includes all four rooms – Main Hall, Meeting Room 1, Meeting Room 2 and Interview Room – giving you complete use of the centre and the flexibility to use the different spaces as you need them.  Ideal for larger events, celebrations, workshops, meetings, training and community activities.
The hire also includes the use of the kitchen facilities.
